Presentation of European School Clubs
in Rivne

The press conference organized by the Youth Organizations Committee
was held in Rivne on March, 30. Its aim is to inform local public
about the creation of the European School Clubs(ESCs) in Rivne. The
ESCs are being formed in the framework of Build Europe Together
Program, that is realized together with the Foundation Nowy Staw in
Lublin, Poland.
In the contest of Build Europe Together Program it is planned to
create the European School Clubs in Volyn and Rivne regions. It
turned out that such club has already been opened in Rivne in the
Ukrainian gymnasium. The ESC coordinator Tetyana Maxymenko is the
teacher of English in the Ukrainian gymnasium.
Besides, Taras Maxymenko the chairman of Rivne Youth Organizations
Committee (which is responsible for establishing of Build Europe
Together Program in Rivne region), Vladyslav Stemkovskiy the
chairman of Nasha Sprava the Volyn Public Youth Organizations
Centre, Ivan Vetrov the director of Rivne Ukrainian gymnasium and
Tetyana Maxymenko the ESC coordinator in the Ukrainian gymnasium
took part in the presentation.
“In spite of the fact that the creation of the ESCs is foreseen only
in the schools ,the Student European club is already working in the
Rivne Slavonic Languages Institute ”, said Taras Maxymenko. This
European club is formed by the Young Democracy Youth Organization.
The organization participate actively in the Build Europe Together
Program, providing educational trainings in the schools. During the
trainings the schoolchildren have an opportunity to learn a lot about
Europe, the European integration, the European culture, art and the
traditions of European nations.
During the press conference Vladyslav Stemkovskiy announced about
the beginning of the “European Olympiad” in the contest of the
project. The ESCs coordinators are to submit the applications until
April, 7. The Olympiad will consist of two parts: a test “What we
know about the EU and European countries” and a competition of
pieces of art on the European theme.
