The first European Information Center opened in Lutsk

      Lutsk. April, 21. The first European Information Center was opened. Its goal is to spread the information about the EU, economics, politics, and cultural traditions of the EU states. The creation of the European Information Center is made in the framework of the Build Europe Together Program, the initiators of which is the Nasha Sprava Center and the Nowy Staw Foundation (Lublin, Poland).

Besides, other guests in presentation took part chairmen of Lublin public organizations. Among them were the partners of Nasha Sprava – Jan Fedirko, the board member of the Nowy Staw Foundation, Pawel Bobolowycz the chairman of the Mloda Demokratia Foundation.

Alina Shpak, the director of the European Information Center, during the presentation said about the first-need objectives of the Center. The main are to make the cooperation with diplomatic representatives of the EU states in order to get the information and to spread it among the public of  the region. The activity of European Information Center have two parts: organization of information campaigns and giving the consultations. The main accent is put on cooperation with mass-media and educational institutions of Lutsk and the Volyn region.

We remind that in the framework of the Build Europe Together Program the European School Clubs are created in schools of Volyn region, four of them are  in Lutsk. The citizens of Lutsk and the guests had an opportunity to get to know with the ESCs activity during the public organizations  Fair, that was held in Lutskon April, 20-21.

As Vladyslav Stemkovskiy the chairman of Nasha Spava Center said, “the strategic aim of the European Information Center is working out of Ukrainian experience model of European integration and its spreading in other regions of Ukraine”. Now it is taken as example the polish model of how to inform the territorial communities about EU. “So, the experience of tratsformation of polish neighbours to Ukrainian realities will promote the increasing of territorial communities motivation to European community”, think the organizers of the European Information Center.

Program “Build the Europe together!” is realized in support of Polish-American Fond of Freedom (Program RITA) and Fond of  S.Batory (Warshawa).
